SoCS — Clouds in my coffee

Ah — the Stream of Clonsciousness Saturday. J’adore ça.

I think I’ll go a little bit fictional today 😉

“Un Café, S’il Vous Plaît”

Today, he wore his cloak. It was a good disguise, he thought. There was a good chance he might have to clobber someone and he didn’t want to be recognized. He glanced at the clock. Okay. It was time. He kicked a clod of dirt as he walked down the driveway towards the cloisters. He had walked this very path earlier, measuring it precisely with a cyclometer in order to time his entrance perfectly. He heard the distant “clonk” of the barn door being slid open.  He started walking. One, two, three…

He peered down the road. Yes! He could see it now, the carriage which was delivering Mr. George Clooney to the party, preceded  by the “clip-clop” of the horses hooves. The carriage itself, with its drapes of fine cloqué fabric, gave no clue as to who was inside, but he knew. Oh yes, he knew! Eighteen, nineteen, twenty steps, he was closing in on the scene where the actor would soon emerge, clothed in the most refined suit. Yes, there he was now, one Italian leather shoe and then the other.

Thirty-one, thirty-two, thirty-three…He stopped right on the mark he’d placed there earlier. He exhaled, leaving a cloud of smoke behind him from his clove cigarette, its cloying odor lingering in the air as he walked the final eight steps to the side entrance, where he would walk in, just in time to snatch the last Nespresso (What else?) capsule right out of the man’s reaching hand. Fine suit or not, he deserved this.

This time, he wouldn’t be late. This time, he would have his café! Un café, s’il vous plaît!

This post is part of Linda G Hill’s “Stream of Consciousness Saturday”  — Click and read, click and join in! Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “-clo-.”  Use a word or words that contain the three letters in order, and base your post on it/them. Enjoy

    1. Hmmm…well, in order to come up with my words I just sat down and successively added each letter of the alphabet to the end of “clo-” to see if I could think of a word. I couldn’t do it with every letter but I got a good number, and “Clooney” was all I could think of for “cloo-” because I just saw that ad on TV. Now I want a coffee 🙂

    1. yes, I had the fortune to see this ad first of all on the Nespresso website, so I didn’t see the “abridged” version until afterwards. Yes I do like my coffee a little too much. I have to say that I prefer Clooney to DeVito as a representative…
