This post is brought to you by the letters A, E, I, O, and U.  Thanks for the “earworm,” Linda! The Esteemed Linda G Hill has suggested the following for the SoCS today: “bat, bet, bit, bot, but.”  So naturally the first thing that popped into my head was that song we used to sing on the playground as kids. You know the one. You substitute a different vowel sound into the words “apples and bananas” for each verse of this inane little ditty, which goes on and on and on forever!

So, because I wouldn’t want anyone to feel left out of the ear-worm loop, here is a lovely version of this annoying song by the inimitable Raffi:

 

Ok. Sorry about that.  Earworms are dangerous weapons! Sometimes I forget how powerful they are. Just try to forget I showed you that.  But, Don’t you….forget about me…  It’s really ok. Only Simple Minds fall prey to earworms, right? No? Hmmm.

Well, let’s just move on to another topic here. So yesterday I met this guy named Mickey.  He was so fine he blew my mind!  Oh. Did I write that out loud? Well, it is Stream of Consciousness.  I can’t help it.  I wonder why so many of these songs come from children’s literature or from the 80’s?

Ok. Really moving on now.  Truly. In fact, I have to fly soon. Crossing several states before I get home. (yes, I’m writing this on Friday and publishing it on Saturday…is that cheating?) I will start in South Dakota, cross over to Colorado, then California, then back to Colorado before I’m done tonight. It really is a Small World, After All.  What? oh. sorry.

Maybe it’s better to just stop now. It’s probably best that I do, before some other ubiquitous 80’s tune shows up.
